Antonia Steyn, a distinguished graduate from the University of Cape Town in 2000, quickly ascended the ranks to become a leading figure in the world of photography. Her early recognition on the Dean’s merit list was just a glimpse of the accolades and achievements that would define her career. By 2005, Steyn had embraced her calling as a full-time professional photographer, a decision that led to numerous awards and recognitions, cementing her status in the industry.

In 2007, Steyn's collaboration with Pieter Dirk Uys, a prominent South African satirist, earned her the prestigious Media 24 Photographer of the Year award. This accolade was followed by an ABSA L’Atelier Merit Award in 2008 for her shoot with Eugene Terre Blanche, a controversial South African political figure. Her innovative Triptych Steyn & De Villiers won the Vuleka Art Award in 2011, further showcasing her ability to push the boundaries of photographic art. That same year, she was honored as one of the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans, a testament to her influence and impact within the creative community.

Steyn’s portfolio is a rich tapestry that spans across various genres, from intimate portraits of global entrepreneur Richard Branson to iconic South African figures like Uys and Terre Blanche. Her work extends beyond the realm of portraiture, capturing the essence of brand identity for high-profile advertising clients such as Coca Cola, Siemens, Mobil, Babolat, Tiger Beer, Dove Men, and 46664 Apparel. Steyn has also lent her visionary lens to campaigns for Mutual & Federal, Levis, Guinness, Minute Maid, Adidas, and Allan Gray, among others.
