The touring exhibition Afghan Tales presents a new perspective on the complexities of contemporary Afghanistan, introducing a strong selection of some of the best contemporary Afghan photography.

Copenhagen (DK) - Øksnehallen

Africa Reframed June 2016 - Aug 2016

DGI-byen and Commerce & Culture proudly presents the photo exhibition: Africa Reframed at Øksnehallen. For the first time in Scandinavia, visitors can experience a select group of artists, who are currently contributing to a worldwide fascination with contemporary African photography. Africa Reframed offers insight into a versatile and creative continent, which is full of surprises and quite different from the Africa most often portrayed in the media. The contributing photographers are: Victor Omar Diop (Senegal), Namsa Leuba (Schweiz/Guinea), Dillon Marsh and (South Africa) and Fabrice Monteiro (Senegal). Contributing designers are Christine Mhando (Tanzania/UK) og Yinka Ilori (Nigeria/UK)

Gothenburg (S) - The National Museum of World Culture

Afghan Tales  April 2016 - Jan 2017

Commerce & Culture is delighted to announce that Afghan Tales will be exhibited in one of Sweden’s major cultural institutions, the National Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg. The exhibition is programmed to run from April 2016 through to January 2017. During the forthcoming months we will work closely with the museum’s curators and production team, and together develop the best possible presentation of Afghan Tales within the beautiful space of the National Museum of World Culture.

Commerce & Culture and Copenhagen Contemporary Art Centre Nikolaj Kunsthal present the Danish launch of Afghan Tales. Nikolaj Kunsthal is one of the leading Scandinavian exhibition venues of contemporary art and particularly focuses on art that reflects and addresses current political, social and cultural issues. Nikolaj Kunsthal show art that has not been shown before and that can generate, inspire and intervene in social debates.
